Windows 2003 System State Restore Fails with Error

Question

17469:recover: Preparing for SYSTEM STATE recover, please wait...
6208:recover: Cannot contact media database on -iY
39078:recover: RPC error: Unknown host

I can recover everything else on the server C:\ drive just not system state or system files

Any Ideas?

Networker Server 7.4 sp1
Networker client 7.4 sp1

When you are working with system state RSM at times dies - can you tell if it is dying when you attempt the recovery?
It is needed to take a recovery and drop it into place for reboot
try to see if there are helpful messages in the sys-logs on the client
it should tell us more about the client isn't able to recovery to itself

with some more information we could give more detailed reply

By looking at your error message it seems obvious that you had line going -s -iY which obviously doesn't work. Use GUI as it's going to be more friendly to you.

We are getting this exact error, and we ARE using the GUI - it appears the GUI is calling the command line program, and forgetting to put the server name in...

Also SYSTEM STATE? AFAIK, NW doesn't support that as per MS recommendation (not sure if warning is given or it disallows). As for regular directed restore, it works fine for me.
