2724 cannot find IP Address

I have a DC 2724 switch in Managed Mode I have switched it back to unmanaged mode and back to managed mode and the default IP Address is unpingable. I have a laptop setup to 192.168.2.2 submask 255.255.255.0 and GW to 192.168.2.1 and cannot ping the default address of 192.168.2.1 of the 2724. I have tried a ping scan of my network IP address with no luck. I have switched the 2724 a couple of times back and forth to unmanaged and managed mode. Any ideas?

I set my laptop to 192.168.2.10 , mask 255.255.0.0, gateway 192.168.1.1 and it worked for me.

The other factor in logging on to the 2724 is that it doesn't work with Firefox: IE only (BUG!!!!)

No luck with it. I am using IE 6 and I am unable to ping the default IP address of the switch 192.168.2.1. Looks like I am stuck in managed mode without being able to manage it.
