3024 keeps resetting, bad ping...

I've got two printers which give very bad pings and i've got 4x 3024 stacked together which keeps resetting once in a while.. Somethimes a few times a day, somethimes a few times an hour...everytime my network is down for a few seconds!!!

The first I had this problem I just pull the powerswitch and put it back...My pings after this where fine and the resetting stopped for a few days...but you gues..it's back. This remedy would not work anymore..

Someone the same problem? and somebody knows how to fix it...?

Software version: 6.0.4.2492

Thanx...

In the end it was running fine for two weeks, now I'm having the same problems with my two printers (2x Brother HL1270). Bad pings, but the switches didn't restart (yet) by themselves...

Nobody recognizes this problem?

If network traffic through the switches is stopping, but returning WITHOUT any intervention from you(i.e.  you lose the network for a few seconds here and there, but data traffic picks up again without having to pull links, reboot the switches, etc), I'd strongly suspect you have a traffic issue.

This would probably be a good time to examine the configuration of your switches for possible mistakes in the setup, and perhaps start monitoring the amount and type of traffic crossing through the switch.  Further, if only those two printers appear to be having problems with ping traffic, but not the rest of the systems on the network, I'd strongly suspect the problem to be isolated either to the printers, or to the cabling connecting them to the switch stack - you can try moving them to a different port in the switch stack, and see if the problem follows or not (if not, then we might be looking at a faulty port or two on the switch).

Finally, there *is* a firmware update available for the 3024 switches, that you might want to look at if this problem continues - the latest revision is 6.1.2, and can be downloaded from the following link:

http://support.dell.com/FileLib/Format.aspx?c=us&l=en&s=DHS&Category=0&OS=NAA&OSL=EN&SvcTag=&SysID=PWC_ENET_MSW_48P_3048&DeviceID=3129&Type=&ReleaseID=R64389

I recommend reading through the accompanying release notes for the FW update prior to installation, so that you are fully aware of what feature additions and bugfixes are implemented.
