4 Switchports Not Passing Unicast
Recently started experiencing a weird issue with my Powerconnect 2848. Four switchports just stopped working.
When a cable is plugged in, the external LEDs appear to function normally. The MAC address table is appropriately updated if I move the cable between the four ports in question.
The web interface and 'show tech-support' seem to indicate that everything is running fine. When I reset the port counters, I can see activity for multicast and broadcast, both in and out, but none for unicast.
They're all in VLAN1, there is no port security set up. They're all force-authorized. No mirroring or port aggregation is set up. No config changes were made before this issue occurred.
I initially suspected a hardware error, but everything about the ports appear to be normal except for my inability to reach the connected host.
Anyone have any thoughts/ideas?
Thanks.

Hi,
Is it just those 4 ports that don’t work, and the rest work normally? Which ports are they? Is it the ports that are shared with the fiber ports?

Hi Josh,
Thanks for the reply. I should have been more clear on that detail.
The affected ports are g14,g15,g16,and g17. They are all 1G-Copper. All other ports work normally.

Do you have anything in 13 and 18? Those 6 ports share a link to the switch cpu, so it could be something with that link. Have you, are you able to reboot the switch?

Is flow control or storm control enabled on the ports?

Josh,
13 is actively being used and works fine. 18 was not used, but was tested and it works fine. We've tried rebooting the switch a couple times. It had no effect.

Flow control is enabled on all the ports. Storm control isn't enabled on any.

Try enabling storm control and see if it has any effect.

Hi Josh,
Sorry for the delayed reply. The machine is remote so it took a little while before I had a chance to test your suggestion. Unfortunately, it didn't fix the issue. Would you happen to have any other suggestions?
I appreciate the help.
