Attempting update cpld show invalid input?
I've just upgraded one of our N3000 stacks to firmware version 6.5.4.10 (from 6.3.1.13) and boot code U-Boot SPL 2012.1--00079-g20827d2 (May 22 2017 - 16:58:14).
Our current CPLD version is 13.
When I try to update the CPLD version, using the command update cpld, I get an Invalid input detected at '^' marker message, with the ^ marker on the c of cpld?
I followed up upgrade instructions, step-by-step?
Can anybody offer any advice?
Many thanks

It looks like each switch in the stack separately.

I've followed the upgrade instructions to update the firmware and boot code on two N3000 stacks and, after updating the boot code and reloading (steps 9 and 10) I can't then run the update cpld command. I get an Invalid input detected error with the marker showing against the c of cpld?
After this happened on the first stack, I tried running the update cpld command on the second stack, before upgrading the firmware and boot code. The update cpld command ran fine (but didn't update the cpld), so it's strange that the command is not recognised after the update?
Can anybody help? I'm currently on CPLD version 13, so could do with upgrading.

Hi,
The command changed, it is now xloader cpld

Many thanks, Josh.
Can I use xloader cpld to update the stack, or do I need to specify each stack member? If I have to specify, do I start with the Master, or finish with the Master?
The Dell documentation makes no mention of xloader cpld so, hopefully, they'll update that.
Kind regards
Jim

Many thanks, Josh you're quick response is very much appreciated.
I've run the command on each stack member and they've all updated to CPLD 20.
Kind regards

Oh my bad.
It seems the command is again "update cpld". Apparently easier to change the command than the documentation
As for the question about the stack members, you need to update each of them separately.
* Running the update command updates the current management switch, see "show switch". Remember which one it was.
* Reconnect: While it reloads, another stack member will have become the management switch, see again "show switch"
* I usually wait until the updating one is back (show switch should not show "Unassigned") when I issue the command again to update the current management switch etc.
I do this until every member is up to date.
Note you can see individual stack member cpld version using "show version n" where n represents the stack member number. (1-...)
Note: To set the operational standby switch (the one which becomes master after you run update cpld, use "conf > stack > standby n"

One year later: the documentation is still not up to date:
"Upgrading Dell EMC Networking N3000 Series Switches From Version 6.x.x.x. to 6.5.4.17.pdf"
Still no mention of xloader.
