Authentication Powerconnect 2824 with Radius

Question

Hi, i've a lot of switchs Powerconnect 2824 and i want to activate authentication with Radius.

i've read all post of this subjetc and nobody gave solution:

As post above, the request don't leave the switch and never arrive to radius server.

I tried everything, there aren't many option and the console is very limited.

Anybody know if it works on powerconnect 2824 ?

Hi, thanks for answer. I've checked a lot of times all settings and i've read links you wrote above. There are few options, for example, compared with PowerConnect 6248.

On the servers side everything is fine. I've a lot of Mikrotik authenticating fine and the PowerConnect 6248 too, all with authenticate through Radius.

The problem is with 2824, i just setup IP Address, key string, port 1812, and source ip. The times are the same for the 6248.

Someone has been able to make it work?

There aren't much to try! Only, System -> Management Security -> Radius

Hi, thanks again. The firmware was the first thing i've checked. I've updated the firmware from version 1.0.0.42 to 1.0.0.44 and the problem continued.

I've been checking different 2824's manuals and i found with in version Rev A00 of December 2008, page 73:

The figure where display the list of all Radius Servers has one option called Usage Type (Login) wich dissapeared in newer versions.

The CLI of this model is very limited and cannot applied any commands of other models.

The mikrotiks and switchs 6248 works, but I've about 80 power connect 2824 and i'm very interesting in this work.
