There is not a way to do this within the link aggregation modes, as it will split the traffic based on the hashing mode. If the two links were not in the same channel group you may be able to make separate static routes and give one priority, so it would take all of the traffic but if it went down the lower priority link would be used.
(keep in mind its all are Point to point connection not using any static route or any other protocol)
I have two dell power connect 6224 switches which is stacked, Now two links are coming one is from Radio and Fiber both are terminating on my switch with Ethernet cable. one link is for backup link i will use.
total 6 tagged vlan traveling in this link so i put it into the trunk port.
As i mentioned in above lines that two links are coming i put into the trunk port. (port no 21 is for radio link and port 22 for fiber link)
Now my question i want to use one link as backup link so what should i do?????.
There is not a way to do that automatically. If they are in a channel group it will use both ports. You could shutdown the port for the backup and only turn it on when there is an issue.
It treats all members of the stack the same, the master just has the additional role of handling the administration of the stack, but one link in the master and one in the non master is not any different from them both being in the same switch from a LAG perspective. So you will have the same issue still.
