Hi,

First I would try updating the firmware. https://www.dell.com/support/home/us/en/19/drivers/driversdetails?driverId=GNJ87&osCode=NAA&productCode=powerconnect-6224f There could have been a bunch of traffic that caused a timeout and for it to start switching ports for STP.

Hi Josh,

We have successfully update for 09 units of DELL 6224F switches.

But we encounter an CRC error for 1 of the unit, there was an un-expected power re-cycle when the file was being transferred and we encounter errors when we tried to perform update from Boot Menu.

We tried different option from Boot menu as follow:

[Boot Menu] 11

Failed to activate Backup Image

[Boot Menu] 1

ERROR: operational code CRC is not valid, you must load new code.

[Boot Menu] 5

ERROR: operational code CRC is not valid.

Is there any other method that we can try to reload new Image file?

Thanks for your kind assistance.

George

Try connecting to the console and doing the update through xmodem.

Boot Menu Version: xxxxxx

Select an option. If no selection in 10 seconds then operational code will start.

1 - Start operational code.

2 - Start Boot Menu.

Select (1, 2):

If so you can enter the boot menu by pressing the number 2 within 10 seconds.

Once in the boot menu you can try updating the firmware and bootcode thru Xmodem.  That can be started by pressing number 4 when the boot menu is displayed.  This whole process should only be performed when physically connected to the console port on the switch.
