Dell S6000 unsupported module type

Hello,

I have multiple Dell S6000 switchs that are giving me this error when I start it up

00:00:23: %STKUNIT1-M:CP %CHMGR-5-PEM_INSERTED: Power entry module 2 of unit 1 is inserted
00:00:23: %STKUNIT1-M:CP %CHMGR-1-PEM_UNSUPPORTED_TYPE: Major Alarm:Power entry module 2 of unit 1 is of unsupported type

Also the Power LED light keeps flashing a yellow light.

I have switched out the power supplies with another pair that I knew for sure were good but the same problem occurs. I was just wondering if anyone knew what this meant, or what i can do to fix it.  I'm pretty knew to this stuff so any feedback would be awesome.

Hi,

Is it always module 2? It could be an issue with that power supply slot. If you reseat that power supply with the switch on does it change status?

it is both of them actually, sorry I should have made that clear in my first post.

I tried resetting and it still gives me the same message. here is the the full boot up that it gives me.

Are the power supplies AC or DC? Are you able to update the software from 9.7 to 9.10?

Yes, since it works otherwise, if was actually both power supplies not working it wouldn’t boot up.

The power supplies are AC, and I am not able to update to 9.10, you think it might be a software issue?

Hi, I'm just wondering if this was ever resolved?  I have an s6000 ON with the exact same symptoms. I've tried with FTOS 9.14.1.14  and 9.14.2.17 but no luck, so it doesn't appear to be a firmware issue.

Thanks

John

Hell thanks for choosing Dell.
Are you using both PSU units?(• Fan with airflow from the I/O side to the PSU side • Fan with airflow from the PSU side to the I/O side)
https://dell.to/3NuBfcW
Please note that we must use either Fan with airflow from the  I/O side to the PSU side ( or ) Fan with airflow from the PSU side to the I/O side. If you change or mix them the reported issues will be triggered.
