dell switch OS10 10.5.2.0 password encrypt
hi
Dell os10 10.5.2.0 newest version
in document, username password is encrypted as SHA-512 and converted as SHA-512 format in running config
but password is actually marked as ****
ex) username admin password **** role sysadmin priv-lvl 15
**** is not the format of SHA-512.
customer inquired about this situation. please help

Which model switch is it? Was the password created on an older version of the OS?

any device of 10.5.2.0 version have the same issue.
(s4048, s3048, s4148)
whenever I make a username, before upgrade or after, have the same issue.

Did it do it on the previous firmware version? Can you private message me a service tag of one of the switches? It may be something that will need to be fixed in a future update.

you can test with any device of 10.5.2.0 version.
I have 15+ 10.5.2.0 device(4 kind of), all of them have same issue.
in 10.5.1.4(1 before of newest version), encrypted password is shown normally, from 10.5.2.0 , password is shown as **** not encrypted password.
case 1) device 10.5.1.4 version used → upgrade on CLI → password changed encrypted words to **** in show running-config → make a new username → password is shown as ****
case 2) delete OS on ONIE → install 10.5.2.0 on ONIE → make a new username → password is shown as **** (default username admin's password is also shown as ****)
