Ethernet 1/1/17 is up, line protocol is down with SFP 10G OS10

Hello All,

Please I need you assitance if anyone had the same situation.
I have plugged one Huawei (CE 5855-48) SFP 10G on the switch (Dell s5224F-ON), the problem is : the dell switch always showing that the Pluggable media present, SFP28 type is SFP28 25GBASE-SR-AOC,and the line protocol is down.

If we plug a Dell s5224F-ON SFP 10G into another switch Dell s5224F-ON, we have (the line protocol is up)

If we try to configure the Auto-Negotiation to Off or Auto, we have the same result (the line protocol is down)

Here is the show interface result  :

OS10# show interface ethernet 1/1/7

It sounds like you're receiving a status message from a network device, indicating that Ethernet interface 1/1/17 is physically connected (up), but the line protocol is not active (down). Additionally, it seems to be utilizing a 10 Gigabit Ethernet SFP (Small Form-factor Pluggable) module running on OS10, which likely refers to the operating system running on the networking equipment.

Dell switch 25G port speed is converted to 10G then only can connect with 10G of Huawei
This may help:

Hi,

You can refer to this documentation to create link between the switches, but I'm unsure if both Huawei and S5224F configuration will be compatible. Please check the documentation and implement the configuration. Let us know how is the outcome.

Hi,

If port group is configured, you will need to issue the command:

OS10(config)# interface ethernet 1/1/17:1

Thanks for your feedback,

The protocol is up now with the following command :

OS10(config)# port-group 1/1/17
OS10(conf-pg-1/1/1)# mode Eth 10g-4x

I need your help to configure the link between switches (Fiber optic)

I have configured on the Huawei switch (port trunk / vlan / eth-Trunk) but I don't know the equivalent on Dell switch for the link

Please help us to configure the Dell switch for the communication between the switches

Hi,

Once the port group is configured, I no longer have access to the specific interface for the vlan and trunk configuration.

OS10(config)# interface ethernet 1/1/17
% Error: ethernet1/1/17 is not configurable
