Firmware update and image questions

Question

Hi,I have a stack of four 6248 switches and I need to update the firmware on the stack to the latest version (3.3.2.3). Currently a show version on my stack shows this:------------------------------------------------------------------------show versionImage Descriptions image1 : image2 : default image Images currently available on Flash-------------------------------------------------------------------- unit image1 image2 current-active next-active-------------------------------------------------------------------- 1 2.2.0.3 image1 image1 2 2.2.0.3 2.1.0.13 image1 image1 3 2.2.0.3 2.1.0.13 image1 image1 4 2.0.0.12 2.2.0.3 image2 image2 ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Is it necessary to get all of the switches to use 'image1' before I attempt this? Do I need to upload the new image to each switch and then reboot them one at a time with a serial port to run the boot menu for each switch? Can I copy images from one switch to another? Can I copy image1 to image2 and vice versa? thanks jason

Yes, you can copy the firmware from the master to all or specific member switches in the stack. On page 245 of the User Guide (link below) you can use the Copy Master Firmware option from the Web Gui on the IP of VLAN 1 on the Master Switch.

Also in that same area you can use the Copy configuration option with a source and destination.
