firmware update - need to change bootvar

I've downgraded the firmware on my 5316M switch, along with the boot image, too. I forgot to set the active image to the new (meaning older) firmware image that I want to boot, so it tries to boot the old (meaning newer) firmware image using the older boot image, and fails (then loops around again, failing, and failing, etc). Is there a way to fix this? Without doing a firmware transfer via xmodem? I ask because I would have to go on-site to handle this issue - whereas if there's a fix, I can do it from here.

aaron6166,
It appears there may be a "chance" if you are sure the image is loaded.

You have to be physically at the switch and consoled in.
when the Large Dell logo rolls around press ESC at the screen and only once

when the menu appears type [CTRL][shift] 6 to activate the advanced menu option

then press enter
the startup menu will now have an Advance menu option in the number 6 slot
choose that option

the advanced menu will appear
select 2 to go to the image menu

select 1 to show the current image

then select 2 to set the current image

Then at the prompt Insert the new image index: [0,40] (0 is image 1 and 40 is image 2)
Type in the image you want and press enter

then select 1 again to verify that it took and the image you want is listed

press ESC

and power cycle if needed

If this does not work, then xmodem will be necessary.

Good luck!
