Force10 MXL VLT with MSTP

Hello, can somebody please clarify situation with F10 MXL switches and MSTP configuration in VLT mode on them.

Didn't find clear description about situation when whole network configured in MSTP and single pair of Force10 (non ToR switches) are converting from STACK to VLT.

Major problem that we have several mstp instance and this pair of switches connecting to several of them. During implementation, suddenly we got mstp block in ports configured in vlt-peer-lag (Port-channel interfaces), we had to disable one port from each vlt port-channel interfaces to make this port working.

I understand that my description looks unclear, so please refer on topology diagram attached, links marked with red became blocked with MSTP

Hello, Daniel, looks like the answer was easier than I thought. VLT configuration simply don't support MSTP, but Dell Force10 documentation looks quite strange for me. I didn't find any clear remark about this. At this moment VLT supports only RSTP and PVST. This info looks sad to me, because it makes interoperability and seamless VLT integration to network environment with different equipment impossible.

Hello, Daniel,

We're using most recent version of the switches - 9.11 and vlt configuration were equal, at this moment ports on second switch are in admin down state:
