Forwarding error detection - FEC
Hello,
I try to understand how i can change the FEC parameter on a server. It's a dell r740xd with esxi installed on it.
The network card is a Mellanox Technologies MT27710 Family [ConnectX-4 Lx] (25G with twinax) version 14.32.20.04.
Is this nic parameter needs to be changed in esxi directly ? if yes how ?
Or we can change it directly from idrac ?
Thks for your help

Hello, sorry I'm not aware of how to change or set FEC for servers. For MX platform there is a deployment guide(https://dell.to/3NMol9h) but I'm not sure how to do it for servers. I've checked iDRAC on an R740XD but it has not Mellanox card therefore I couldn't see any FEC settings. I hope the community can help.

Forward error correction (FEC) is a method of obtaining error control in data transmission in which the source (transmitter) sends redundant data and the destination (receiver) recognizes only the portion of the data that contains no apparent errors.
This may help,
