I tried to find a BIOS or chipset driver to update but I can't seem to find one. The Dell service tag does not come up when I search it. I installed server manager on two of the nodes and everything looks good hardware wise.
I just bought brand new cables and it did not make a difference. I tried many ports on the switch.
The ports are set to default. Auto/Auto. I tried manually setting the speed and duplex on the switch and NIC with a new cable and that didn't work either.
The server works on gig with other switches. This is getting pretty frustrating. I think I have tried everything?
Any chance there is a manual out there anywhere? I have one of these servers as well (actually I believe these servers are DCS6005, NOT c6100), and I have one that hands on BMC initialization. I am sure there are multiple firmware updates for these boards, but absolutely nothing on the web that I can find.
No. Clearly Dell doesn't plan to support their equipment so I'll be getting a refund for this hunk of junk. A host of other problems is what I've had. Need to get a REAL C6100 and put this dcs6005 to rest.
Dell P/N for mobo is KW6G5. Nothing on the net
Tyan P/N for mobo is S8208. Little to nothing on the net.

I did update the switch to V1.0.0.45. Still did not make a difference.
The board in the nodes is a Tyan 8208 with an Intel 82576EB controller.
I will try the NIC driver later today.
Thanks for the help so far.

NIC driver is up to date.

Server is a DCS6005

On this specific board, there are only two gig nics. There is no management card.
This is the site for the motherboard. http://www.tyan.com/support_download_datasheets.aspx?model=S.S8208
I tried it with a lower end home grade Linksys wireless router and it negotiated fine. It also works if I plug my laptop directly into it.
Thanks

Yes, both ports on the NIC behave the same.
I just bought brand new cables and it did not make a difference. I tried many ports on the switch.

I looked all over as well. Did you see the post above? I found that sales sheet. If you search their site they have a RAID driver but that is it.
Do you have the NIC problem as well?

Thanks for the help all along, I appreciate it.
I did try the Intel driver but it failed. I will look for a different one. It seemed like an all in one installer so maybe that is why.
I was hoping to get actual firmware, probably BIOS because it's on-board. Perhaps making a trouble ticket is the next step.
