High CPU for ipMapForwardingTask
I have a problem with Powerconnect 6248, which appeared recently. Time from time CPU for ipMapForwardingTask rises up to 30-40% instead of normal operation (average 6%) and PINGs to switch raises from 1ms to 50-100ms. Logs show nothing. It last from several dozens seconds to minutes. Then it goes back to its normal stage, but after few hours (or less) repeats again. What could be the reason? Current FW 3.3.1.10

JoeO, this was from very old SNMP Monitoring Software, which is replaced already (as it was running on old 32bit server). I doubt it is available anymore.

FYI - we are seeing this issue on all our 8024F (three) units that are in Layer 3 mode. We have been chasing it as a STP issue but are not turning up anything STP. Logs were set to debug hoping to catch something and nothing is turning up. The worst box has been as high as 75% CPU, almost all in ipMapForwarding, and never below 40% CPU. An original 8132F (now 4023 after the software update) runs max 14%, usually 4%. And that box has 10 buildings and multiple switches behind it where the 75% 8024F has only 5 smaller end point groups. The 8024Fs are on 5.1.7.5 currently with 5.1.8.2 pending.
