How to configure login authentication?
After I configured login authentication with local username and password, I always got Login As prompt, then Username and password prompt. How to eliminate Login As?
When I ssh to switch, I got below
Login as: frankzhre
Username: frankzhre
Password:***********
Test-SW>en
Password:***********
Test-SW#sh run
interface port-channel 1
switchport mode trunk
exit
0 events found
No Events found!

Just a few questions.
1. Do you have the latest firmware installed on the switch?
2. What switch model are you using?
3. If you connect physically thru RJ-45/DB9/USB Console port on a PowerConnect switch are you seeing the same response?
4. Is this only happening when you use SSH?

Telnet is OK, Login As does not come out. It seems only happens on ssh

1.Almost latest firmware: version 2.0.0.46(date 14-April-2011)
2.Powerconnect 5424
3.From console, only ask me for enable password, no username needed.
4. I only tried ssh and console
Thanks and need to eliminate login as prompt.

It looks like Login As is login-banner?
No login-banner did not remove it yet...who can help?

Hi
I am also facing the same problem, due to which we are not able to execute management task remotely.
We are using Dell Powerconnect 3548 with firmware 2.0.0.52.
Pls provide solution to remove the login as prompt

Hi
We do SSH to the switches. We have Solarwinds server with latest version. Because of this login as prompt, we are not able to push any kind of config push on the switches. Backup is also failing.
Telnet and SNMP RW community is not allowed as per security norms.
We are not able to automate simple things.
