Is this possible with Powerconnect 8024 switch?
I have a powerconnect 8024 switch. I should use it for distributing the traffic created by a traffic generator to openflow switches and then collect the traffic again by the same powerconnect switch and send it back to another port of the traffic generator in order to check the performance of the openflow switches.
One port of the traffic generator is emulating four hosts with ip addresses 192.168.100.1, 192.168.100.2, 192.168.200.1, 192.168.200.2. This port of traffic generator is connected to 10gb optical port 21 of the powerconnect switch.
The second port of the traffic generator is emulating four hosts with ip addresses 192.168.100.3, 192.168.100.4, 192.168.200.3, 192.168.200.4. This port of traffic generator is connected to 10gb optical port 22 of the powerconnect switch.
All the traffic is already vlan tagged at the source nodes. The traffic matrix in the format (source -> destination, vlan tag)
192.168.100.1->192.168.100.3, tag 100
192.168.100.2->192.168.100.4, tag 100
192.168.200.1->192.168.200.3, tag 200
192.168.200.2->192.168.200.4, tag 200
There are four openflow switches connected to ports 1 to 4 of powerconnect 8204f.
I want to forward these two incoming traffic from port 21 to port 1 in powerconnect 8204f
192.168.100.1->192.168.100.3, tag 100
192.168.200.1->192.168.200.3, tag 200
Then forward these two incoming traffic from port 21 to port 2 in powerconnect 8204f
192.168.100.2->192.168.100.4, tag 100
192.168.200.2->192.168.200.4, tag 200
After this traffic is routed in the openflow network, it is sent back to ports 3 and 4 of powerconnect 8024. These two ports will forward all the traffic to port 22, which is connected to the second port of the traffic analyzer, which emulates the hosts 192.168.100.3, 192.168.100.4, 192.168.200.3, 192.168.200.4.
Is such a traffic routing possible with powerconnect 8024? If it is possible, how can I do it?

Hi,
I am not sure what you want to do is possible, port mirroring would be the best way, but it doesn’t let you split based on vlan. Page 383 https://downloads.dell.com/manuals/common/powerconnect_8024-and-f-ug_en-us.pdf
