How do I remove it - I have tried remove in the GUI but that doesn't appear to work - is there a cli command for this option - I haven't been able to find one? I assume I don't have to remove stacking cables to do this as I am working remotely on these switches?
I will try that but I need to attach a serial cable to a switch that is 100 miles away :-( I have sent a cable and I will try the xmodem method and keep you posted.
I used the xmodem instructions and it still reported a bootcode error, so I thought I have nothing to lose by using option 13 - refresh flash. After a refresh and a very long time to copy the v5.1 image the bootcode install completed successfully. Looking at the SHOW VER it still shows image1 as being blank and it has placed the v5.1 into image2 where the v4 image was before - very strange.
So all is working now, many thanks for your help on this one.

Hi Daniel
Weird things going on - I have made the switch the only switch available - the v5.1 stk said it copied successful but show ver shows no image 1
I copied image 2 to image 1 so that both were 4.2 and reloaded - the image 1 disappeared and it booted to image 2.
Sometimes if I show ver I get this:
Framlinham6220stack#show ver
Image Descriptions
image1 :
image2 : v3.1.5.4
Images currently available on Flash
unit image1 image2 current-active next-active
----- ------------ ------------ ----------------- -----------------
1 4.2.1.3 image2 image2
2
3
4
It shows an image description above the unit table with v3.1.5.4 - what is that about when the image2 version for unit 1 is 4.2.1.3
Any ideas?
Thanks
Eric
