N-1524p u-boot load kernel file error

After update of N1524p from 6.2.6.6 to 6.6. I managed to somehow corrupt both images (backup, active) and device stuck in U-boot (U-Boot 2012.10-00167-g9172591 (Mar 02 2015 - 10:39:33))

I can't boot into boot menu (option not showing)  it's just going directly into boot and trying from both image1 and image2, both fails with Bad data CRC

Loading file '/image2' to addr 0xb0000000 with size 27672576 (0x01a64000)...

I've also tried to load firmware from tftp and through loady (serial) like explained in this guide:

https://www.dell.com/community/Networking-General/Inadvertently-reformatted-N2048P/td-p/5125138

trying TFTP I get this error:

ERROR: Ethernet external port not connected
at bcmiproc_eth.c:125/bcmiproc_eth_open()

There is now OOB interface on the n1500 series afaik, but i've tried all the other ports basically.

trying loady:

u-boot> loady
Unknown command 'loady' - try 'help'

I've run out of options, I would be grateful for any help and let me know if more info is needed.

Thanks!

Hi tottebygger,

Is the switch under warranty?

Hi Josh,

Thanks for replying!

It's under basic warranty, Pro support ended earlier this year.

If it's safe to post service tag I can provide that.

Thanks!

If you can private message it to me along with the physical address, company name, contact name, phone number and email address. Alternatively you can call phone support.

Hi!

Did you solve that? I'm in a very similar situation here.

Thanks!

Hello,

I can't speak to whatever the OP's experience or solution may have been. However, if you'd like to message me the service tag, I'd be happy to check it's warranty status.

Having the same issue as tottebygger

Switch 1548P.

We power the Switch off after being 590 days on!! since we needed to move it.

Now when booting I get into u-boot.

trying TFTP I get this error:

ERROR: Ethernet external port not connected
at bcmiproc_eth.c:125/bcmiproc_eth_open()

trying loady:

u-boot> loady
Unknown command 'loady' - try 'help'

The switch in under warranty - system at the moment is down...

Hello, it seems cannot load the boot image onto the device. It is stucked in u-boot mode. I recommend to you please reach your local support team, most likely they will replace it under warranty.

Regards,

Hello,

bcmiproc_eth.c:125/bcmiproc_eth_open() >>This is hardware errors.

It is hardware related issues which won't be resolved by software, please raise an official case in tech support and get replacement.
