N2248PX-ON equivalent for "spanning tree portfast bpduguard default"

Hello, I would like to know how to achieve the equivalent functionality as Cisco IOS devices have of the command "spanning tree portfast bpduguard default". The Dell switch has bpdufilter but not bpduguard. This is an N2248PX-ON switch running firmware 6.8.1.9. Thanks

Hello,

On Dell N-Series switches, the Cisco command spanning-tree portfast bpduguard default is roughly equivalent to enabling BPDU protection globally and applying PortFast on edge ports.

spanning-tree portfast bpduguard default behavior on Dell N-Series switches is achieved by combining BPDU Protection with PortFast (edge port).

  • BPDU Protection works like BPDU Guard: if an edge port receives a BPDU, it’s disabled to prevent loops.
  • PortFast allows access ports to skip STP listening/learning for faster connectivity.

The exact steps depend on your firmware, so check Dell’s official documentation for details:

  • Dell Networking N-Series STP Guide (OS10/NOS)
  • Dell BPDU Protection Feature Overview

I think, enable BPDU Protection globally and apply PortFast to edge ports for similar functionality.

Hope that helps!
