Need Help Accessing/Managing PowerConnect 3524 Switch

Hi everyone, I am currently in an Intro. to IT Infrastructure class, and am doing a project on port mirroring. My professor recommended to me to use the 3524 switch to set up our port mirror, as we tried the 2716 switch and could not get it to work. However, we are having issues with this switch in we cannot figure out how to access the switch to configure the port mirror and manage our network. I have read the documentation for this switch and can not find a default ip address, the manual said to configure a default ip address through the CLI, but we can not figure this out as well. We are using Linux Debian virtual machines for this project. All I need is a default IP address or simple instructions to configure the IP address and access the switch. Also, this is my first time working with IT infrastructure and all of this is very new to me. I would greatly appreciate any advice/help you all could give me. Thank you very much.
