Port Configuration for backbone

I am setting up a system with a 5324 as the backbone switch, and 33xx and 34xx switches connecting to it using their gigabit ports.  Is it better to configure these ports as "Trunk" or "General"?

We will be using about 50 vlans.  Each edge switch will have access to all vlans.  We will only have one link back to the 5324 from each, due the limited number of ports on the 5324.  Thanks for the info.

No problem, In that case you will need Trunks to the 5324 switch for the Vlans propagate.

Are you planning on using Vlans? If so Trunks would be the best option. Do you plan to link more than one port from each switch to the core, in which case LAGs would be appropriate
