Port CONSOLE not functionnal - PowerConnect 6248

Hello, I have a problem, it's impossible to connect me on the switch 6248 by the port console, somebody could help me ? Also, how reset the switch with the button "reset" on the front of switch 6248, please ? (I don't know the address IP of switch.) I thank you in advance for your help. Best regards, NeedHelpGFF

The request is solved. For information, we have found an other cable which was being connected on a device DELL. The connection by the port console is now functionnal.

Daniel, the settings that I use are the same that you (the default settings of switch 6248).

For the cable, I use an RS232.

Thank for your response. But, that I select COM1 or COM3 and that I define these settings (9600,8,N,1N), the connection don't work.

I don't have messages to help me. :(

How to see if the port is broken ? and how test it ? Do you have a software to see if the port console is functionnal ?

Hello,

The cable is functionnal on other devices (I have tested on the switch Cisco, the connection is OK).

The softwares that I use are TeraTermPro and Putty.

For Telnet/http, it's run on the switches, except one. But I would to connect me on the port console to configure the switch.
