Power Connect 6224 Stack ID behavoir

Question

Hi. I got 10x Power Connect 6224 stacked. Last night I added an 11th member. Question 1: As I understand we can hot add or remove members ?   After I added the 11th member the stack ID of all switches changed. It mess up all my configuration Question 2: When we add or remove a member will this change the stack ID of the other switches? Question 3: If member is shut down will there be a change of stack ID with other switches?                        ---> When do stack ID changes and when do stack master changes ?   Before adding the 11th and 12th member, the Stack Master was switch with Stack ID 1. Question 4: Does the stack master change when we add a new member ? After adding the 11th member switch with Stack ID 9 became the master.   Question 5: I notice time outs now every time I save the configuration. At least 3 timeouts are seen. Is this normal ? Hi, Thanks for the reply. So I just follow the proper procedure, the stack ID should not change ? Will there be a reboot of other switches if I add a new member or remove existing member? Thanks, Paul
