PowerConnect 5224, SNMP, CPU usage
Hi there!
I'm having some troubles setting up a MRTG config-file to poll the PowerConnect's cpu usage. I'm relatively new to SNMP, mind you.
We're running MRTG on a win2k machine, no problems there. I can poll the switch's Ports an all, but I just can't figure out the OID of it's cpu.
I tried some MIB browsers like the iReasoning MIB Browser to run an SNMP Walk (with the Dell 5224 MIB tree) on the switch as well as a Walk with a tool named MRTG GUI.
Both returned loads of Information, but I just can't figure out the one for the cpu.
Any thoughts?

There is no standard for monitoring CPU usage via SNMP, it is left to the manufacturer to implement vendor specific counters but I am afraid we do not implement a vendor specific counter on our PowerConnect products.

One minor correction. We actually did implement CPU utilization monitoring parameters in SNMP on some of our newer switches such as the 34xx but we did not implement these parameters on the 5224.

You see, our users are complaining about an overall lack of performance on our Gbit network. And since I'm no specialist on that subject, I thought I'd start out with MRTG to check our PowerConnects and PowerEdges.
But thanks anyway :)
