The HDMI stacking in the 5500 gives you a 2X10gig connection between the switches for the cost of an HDMI cable per switch; to get the equivalent with a LAG would need to buy SFP+ DAC twinax , which cost a lot more...so my bet would be for the HDMI option

what about the 6224. what is the best way to stack these ones? i dont belive they have the HDMI ports.

with regards to stacking the 5524 switches.
i have a few existing hp pro curve switches that I will be retaining. how would they connect to my 5524 stack >?
