PowerConnect 6248 stack frozen

Hello,

We have four Dell PowerConnect 6248 switches configured as a virtual chassis.  One of the switches appears to have stopped working - all of the link lights are off.  What's worse is, we cannot console into the switches at all.  The other switches are still passing traffic.  Are there any recommendations on how to regain control of our stack?

Thank you for this.  What do you think is the best course of action?  Should we take down all the switches, remove the bad one from the stack and boot them back up?  What is the probability of the stack not coming back up or completely losing its configuration if doing so, assuming the running config was properly saved to startup config?

Hello,

Consoling into the master switch brings up nothing - it's completely unresponsive.  We also have a NOC tech move a server from an unresponsive switch to the master, but the server did not back up.  We did try powering down the downed stack member and powering it back up - same results, it's down and the devices attached to it are down.  We powered down a non-master member and powered it back up, and it came back up non-responsive.  We haven't removed anything from the stack because we're concerned about making things worse - these are in production.
