Q-in-Q on Dell N4000 Series Switch

Hello,

I've got a Dell N4032F switch in my co-location. My co-lo happens to be located inside an ISP and they've configured a Layer 2 tunnel from their location to our head office. I'm working with the ISP to configure Q-in-Q so we can pass more then 1 VLAN on the circuit they've provided us with.

Myself, and the ISP could not get Q-in-Q to work despite the documentation made available online. Has ANYONE been able to successfully implement Q-in-Q on a Dell N4000 series switch? Or can someone tell me if it's even possible.

The ISP is configuring their portion. They have us on their VLAN 1483. We are trying to pass our VLAN 1, 60, 70 through that circuit, and below is the configuration on the Dell switch for the interface trying to do Q-in-Q:

interface Te1/0/24

service-policy in Monitoring

traffic-shape 20000 kbps

switchport mode general

switchport general allowed vlan add 60,70 tagged

exit

Any help on this matter would be greatly appreciate.

Hi,

Does it show any errors when you configure it? What does this show?  #show dot1q-tunnel interface all

Is the firmware up to date?

Unfortunately the "show dot1q-tunnel interface all" command is invalid as the only show dot1 command I can use is show dot1x. The firmware is Version  6.0.1.3.

Let me know if I can provide any additional information.
