Question about SNMP community string

What is the max length of the community string?

I believe the minimum is 6 characters but I need to know the maximum before I set them.

Maximum length for the community string is 20 characters on most of the newer switch types (some of the older switches maybe different).

How about for 30xx series switches?

I'm sure the 33xx, 34xx and 60xx series are 20 characters.

I'm not sure about the 30xx series.  I'm not at the lab right now - you might just try to configure an SNMP community string on the 30xx yourself and see what it will let you configure.

Looks like the 3048 supports 32 characters.
