Remove VLAN Routing PowerConnect 6248

I'm changing the layer 3 interfaces to layer 2 and even though I have removed the IP addresses from the VLAN interfaces, the switch will not remove the "vlan routing X" statements from the config.  The only thing that works if I completely delete the VLAN from the database.  Are there any other options?

Config:

!System Software Version 3.3.11.2

vlan database
vlan 30

vlan routing 1 1
vlan routing 30 5

interface vlan 30
name "vMotion"
exit

Error when removing the routing:

console(config-if-vlan30)#no routing

Could not get the internal interface number associated with the Unit-Slot-Port.

"So enabling it will enabled routing for all VLANs. So if you simply want one VLAN to not route, you would need to remove it's IP address or implement an ACL."

As you can see from my config above, the interface doesn't have an IP so why is it still routing?

"If you dont want the switch to route any VLANS, you would remove that part of the config with the command # no ip routing."

I do need to switch some but not all

If routing between Dell switches (N3024 switches) should I assign vLans on each switch (along with an IP) or should just one switch have all the vLan details?

Another way of asking the same question: should each vLan have an IP on each switch, or should a vLan only ever have 1 IP address assigned to it regardless of how many switches or vLans are involved?

Thanks

Duncan
