Still About Vlan Trunk

Have Powerconnect 5324 and 2724.
5324 is use for Backbone and locate at Server room
2724 use for every floor Switch. Both and Vlan Configuration to Support the company Policy.
For Example for 5324, we configure 6 Vlan with different IP address.
For each Floor we configure Different Vlan Example
first Floor on ly have 2 Vlan ( Vlan 1 and Vlan 3).
2nd Floor only 3 Vlan ( Vlan 1 3 and 6).
and same other....which configure different Vlan.

My question, is there a way that we can configure Trunk Vlan ( Like Cisco Trunk Vlan ) to make 2724 and 5324 talk. cause each Floor only have one cat6 cable to connect to 5324 backbone switch. and each Vlan can talk each other depend to Policy.

Can we assign Ip address of each Vlan to become a gateway for each pc assign on the Vlan.

Can a 5324 and 2724 be setup to talk to each other over a trunk line with vlans? of course and its easy to do.

But the second part of your question is the problem. The 5324 is a layer 2 switch, it has no routing functions at all. So your desire to route between vlans and control the traffic(ACL's) is not possible with an 5XXX series switch. You need a 62XX series switch to do this.

So we have to use 62XX series for backbone Switch which have capabilities for routing...

How About Vlan Trunking capabilities between 2724 and 62XX series? it support Vlan Trunking? cause each floor have several Vlan and it only one cable connected between each floor to the backbone Switch located at server room.

so we can Assign ip address as a gateway at 62XX switch?

The 62XX switches will handle all your routing and you have seperate interfaces on each vlan. The 2724 will trunk just fine to these switches as long as you setup the trunk correctly on both ends.
