There was an error during decompression...resetting switch

PC 6442 Powerconnect Switch running version PC62xx_3.2.1.3  firmware

So further to the original switch issue hanging every 40 minutes or so it now no longer boots properly. it gets stuck during decompression and basically just repeats the issue after resetting.

I have tried reverting to the backup image that came with the switch same issue just with a lot of garble on the screen then hangs.

Tried doing a format of file system no change.

Tried blowing away thru factory reset no change.

Any help appreciated!!.
