vrtx ethechannel with cisco

how do I configure the Dell vrtx external links and create a port channel with a cisco switch?

What you will need to do is route port 80 and  then run external links from Cisco to VRTX.

I am trying to create etherchannel from the 8 port switch module of which I am using 4 at the moment to my cisco nexus switch. why do I need to use port 80?

I'm not sure why Chris H mentioned 'port 80' to be honest.

You'll have to create a port-channel with the 4 ports on the Dell switch. The commands should be something like this:

(this assumes you want an LACP port-channel/Link Aggregation):

conf

interface range gi0/1-4

channel-group 1 mode active

exit

If you need to use multiple vlans, be sure to set those on the port-channel and not on the physical port.

You'll have to do something similar with the Cisco switch. I don't know the Cisco commandline very well, but the commands will be very similar.

hi

channel-group 1 mode giv option of 

on or

auto

with or without lacp. what should i use. I want to make sure i prevent any loops when i connect to the cisco nexus fex
