Hello Josh, R1-2401 VRTX 1Gb Switch Module Bro. If I need to use VLANs in my vSphere Environment, I will need to configure the Trunk on 4x internal ports. How about the two new NICs that I added to PCI slot. Thanks for reply and hope you could guide me. With Regards, Myat

Hello Josh, Yes I have already mapped pcie with servers. The network connectivity is fine. The 4 blades are installed with VMware ESXi. But for now we need to use VLANs in our virtualization environment. So how to configure Trunk for newly added ether PCIe ports. The internal and external ports can be change via CMC as I knew that. But for the newly added ether ports. Thanks. With passion, Myat

If you know which interfaces are connected you can use the channel-group command. Page 405 https://downloads.dell.com/manuals/all-products/esuprt_ser_stor_net/esuprt_poweredge/poweredge-vrtx_reference%20guide4_en-us.pdf

Hello Josh,

I didn't mean to this bro. I don't need for the LACP.

Just want to use VLANs for my Virtual Machines.

I would like to get your advice has two things:

1. We need to change both internal and external ports in VRTX . Is it Right?

2. How the newly PCIes network cards will auto negotiate Trunk or how ?

Thanks for your valuable reference.

With Regards,

Myat

If you add the NICs to the vswitch in Vcenter they should pass vlan from the server side and then change the port mode on the switch to trunk mode. https://kb.vmware.com/s/article/1004074
