VRTX R1-2401 switch 'I/O module A1 failed to boot'

So I messed big time and hopefully there is a fix.  In my excitement of getting a VRTX I was eager to update everything.  All was good until I tried to update the switch firmware, and no doubt not paying attention, messed up the upgrade.

At this point I cannot access the switch at all and I get the 'I/O module A1 failed to boot' message.

I have not been able to find anything that tells me how to upload the boot file and image back to the switch.

I was trying to upgrade to version 2.0.0.75.

Thank you!

Hi,

Try to console to the switch and you can use the startup menu to load firmware. Page 52 https://downloads.dell.com/manuals/all-products/esuprt_ser_stor_net/esuprt_poweredge/poweredge-vrtx_reference-guide6_en-us.pdf

Josh - I am not able to connect to the switch via command line.  From the CMC CLI, when I type connect switch-1 or switch nothing happens.  The switch is powered on according to the system, however the module will not boot.  Is there another way to push/upload the config files to the switch?  The boot file R2401_boot-2002.rfb is either missing or corrupt at this point and hopefully there is a way to get that loaded back.

To update and close this thread, I never was successful in fixing the switch module and ended up getting another one on ebay.
