128 bit WEP keys

When configuring my router (Linksys 11G) it allows for 4 WEP keys to be entered. I am only using one and the system is working fine. My question is this: Do I get more security with 4 keys entered as opposed to one or is this not the case?  If you use 4 keys (or three) does the system periodically rotate keys for an added security measure?

I care about security but I care more about people being misled by a false sense of security. WEP is cracked, DES is Cracked, Kerberos the uncrackable is cracked,
CSS has been DECSS'd.

Besides NSA won't let software designers make encryption keys that their computers can't break in a few minutes. They want to be able to snoop whenever they want to. Problem is that Microsoft want's to lie to people and tell them how SECURE XP is when in fact they went out of their way to make sure that they could snoop whenever they want to.

Their only claim now is that they arent currently snooping. There is no way they will
say that they can't whenever they want to cuz this would be telling lies.

WEP is touted by salesmen as security. It isn't. And since the keys to break it are FREE this makes it essentially a futile exercize for anyone who wants to use it to stay safe. Its like the locks on your car door. Its a good Idea to leave it locked but the
window can be broken so ya better not leave those valueables out in plain view.

This means you leave your sensative data on Removeable media that gets locked up.

I don't think someone could get to your files if you set MAC filtering ON and enabled only sufficient DHCP addresses for the computers actually on the network; there would be no way for the compuer to know where to send the shared files.

What are peoples thoughts on WPA instead of WEP?

You can simply spoof the mac address; probably any adapter can do this (certainly if it must if it wants MS certification), but most certainly, adapters are available. That gets you in.

At that point, the DHCP allocation is moot, as you'll be sharing the L2 address already (if you want to be undetectable and do more than peek, you'd have to do this when the authoritative client isn't active). In any case, theres always manual address allocation.

Of course, the attacker still needs the passwords to access the drives (something that varies in difficulty depending on OS, setup, and version).

Back to the Subject of this board. 

How do you set 128 bit encrypt in WinXP for the truemobile 1150?  I have the 1184 router and have tried hex and ascii but neither lets me get an IP.  I have strong signal just no IP.

Any ideas?
