1801 802.11bgn does not find 5ghz networks
A previous discussion here says that this wireless card does recognize 5ghz, but I can find no solution.

The Dell XPS 8900 I purchased in July 2016 has this card and it does not find the 5ghz networks, only the 2.4 ghz.
Is there a solution, updated driver, or does it simply not work with 5ghz. If not, that's pretty disappointing for a brand new pc in 2016.
Thanks for any replies/solutions.

Hi Maloha,
Unfortunately the DW1801 does not support 5ghz. Here is a forum thread with a post and graphic by Chris M breaking out what the 1801 supports: http://en.community.dell.com/support-forums/desktop/f/3514/t/19662660

Sorry for the inconvenience. I typically recommend wired if possible (if you're gaming etc. even though it has wireless), but if that is not possible then a new card/USB wireless adapter will be needed for 5ghz.
Best regards,
Brad
