700m Intel PRO/Wireless 2100 drop connection problem FIX

I have recently run into an issue with my wireless card. When I originally received the notebook from dell the wireless card worked great in all sorts of environments. After some time my computer needed a format and so I formated and upgraded my OS to Windows XP Pro (from XP Home). Upon installing the latest drivers, I began to run into problems with my wireless network connection dropping when i watched video over the network or tried to pull in large files. The connection would drop and almost immediately re-connect, however, causing my video or transfer to fail.

After much searching on the forum No one seems to have a deffinitive fix. Neither do I. but i have been toying with it and seem to be making progress. It seems that if i use the PROset utility to control my card the problem does not occur (as often). This got me wonderingwhat the difference would be. I also noticed allot of talk regarding disabling the 802.1X authentication stuff. Further more I noticed that windows uses an AEGIS Protocol in regards to some sort of 802.11X authentication. Disabling that protocol seems to help. Now just when i thought it was fixed (ie. after watching 15min of video over the network, it failed. but thats ruffly 8minutes longer than usual. blah blah...

just wanted to add my input and ask for further assistance... Thanks anyone to anyone that posts back..
