8100 win 2K pro and the internet

I need a basic pointer on how to get my 8100 back online.

Due to a bad driver I had to relaod win 2k.  I'm trying to get it back online .  My cable modem is connected to a desktop machine running xp pro.  The 8100 win 2kpro is connected to the net thru a link-sys router.  It took me quite awile to get these two machines to see one another last year when I set this all up.  Now I can't recall a bit of how I did it.  Please give me a direction to go in.  I'm afraid I'm basically clueless at this point but as I get into it I'm sure I can get this back up and running.  I just need a bit of help.  Thanks so much.

broadband router ethernet port --------- Linksys WAN port - Linksys LAN port --------- Computer(s) ethernet port.  Set the TCP/IP settings to get an IP address automatically.

Thanks John
I've gotten the win2k machine back online.

Now to get is networked to the desktop.  Last time I had to go through a net Beui install.  Is that still the best way?  I found a MS bullitin on installing netbeui on an xp machine.  Do I have to install it on the win 2k machine as well?

thanks again,
egoat

Just sharing both computers and with the XP machine having SP2 installed and telling it's firewall to allow local network traffic should do it.
