8250 NIC dropping connection to router

I have updated all my drivers, including chipset, NIC, graphic, sound, etc.  I have set the NIC to 100Mbit Full duplex.  I have disabled all wake-on lan settings.

Here's my problem.  I have a Buffalo Airstation WBR-G54 Router and prior to the a Linksys BERFS41.  I rarely turn this computer off if at all.  Sometimes it goes 4 hours, sometimes a few days, but at some point, I cannot connect to anything: email, http, FTP, MSN and am forced to reboot the computer.  Anyone have any ideas?  I'm usualy good at troubleshooting hardware issues, but this one has got me licked.

Have your ISP check your cable modem signal.  You could be on the edges of signal connectivity that it is actuall the modem dropping out and reconnecting but the router is not detecting a reconnect.

I think I got it licked.  The problem is Dell never updates their drivers as often as the manufacturers of their hardware do.  The driver for the NIC was from 1/2003 on the Dell site.  I went to Intel's site and downloaded the correct driver for the onboard NIC and it was from 3/2004.  Makes a big difference.

ISP isn't the issue.  I have 5 other computers networked to the same DSL line and they never have issues.

I guess I don't have it licked.  My wife is still complaining about it dropping the connection to the router.  I don't know why it does this.  I have the latest Intel drivers loaded for the NIC, WOL is set to disabled as she doesn't use it.
