8600 and bluetooth card problem after installing new driver

Question

i tried to install the R77162 new bluetooth driver. got nothing but problems..

no bluetooth devices was working, bt led was off and on.
was told to enable bluetooth, when it was on..

after trying many things i finally was able to install the old driver a02. (system restore etc...)

but when i now go to search for devices in bt, i get the
"no local bluetooth device was detected" error

the mx900 mouse is somewhat working, but im not able to pair it.

my bt phone is detected, but it cant find any services for it

the new driver totally messed everything up.

any advice on the "no local bluetooth device was detected"

i checked, and bt is using the widcomm driver

Having a simaler problem. Hopping for a firmware downgrade as the pach seemed to change something in the card. temptin

The new Bluetooth driver includes a firmware flash; ensure that the system has at least 7 UNINTERRUPTED minutes to update the firmware; ignore any & all Windows' messages (found new hardware, driver search etc. etc.) during the entire TM300 driver install process.

Keep us posted after you reapply the driver.

Thanks after working with bache in another forum we sorted it out that the firmware flash was the problem. Everything is fine now.

My two cents.... the update package is put together poorly imo. Also I think that firmware and drives should be kept separate for this very reason.

as you see, we have no clue what caused the problem, or how it got resolved.

but my advice, do a system restore made when u installed the drivers. after that, boot up, uninstall the old bluetooth, both in system device manager and in "ad\remove" programs.

reboot, then install the old a02 drivers, reboot. then install the new drivers.

ignore the errors etc along the way. and see if this helps

I was stupid enough to upgrade to the new bluetooth driver and firmware too. After doing system recovery without any success and after long hours of teIephone assistance with Dell Tech support I could not get my bluetooth card to work on my I8600. I then reformatted the hard drive and reinstalled the old A02 driver and it still did not work. I have not been able to get the card to work. I noticed that you were able to solve this problem. Can you give me any clue as to what should I do?

I had the same problem when I downloaded the update last week. I got it fixed, sort of, but I can't remember how I did it. When I do I'll post back here. I say "sort of" fixed because BT seems to work just fine with the new firmware and drivers although I did have the same issue where it would say the device wasn't detected.

The new problem is that it seems once power is disconnected from the BT module, through automatic hibernation after a certain time, the BT led stays off it doesn't come back. Trying to enable it and it'll say "Bluetooth radio is turned off. Press Fn+F2 to turn it on", even though it is on and wifi is running. A restart or manual hibernation brings it back.

I'll try to retrace my steps to find out how I got it going. I didn't do a system restore to fix it though. Reminds me of "last known good" too much to have faith in it. :)

I just got my new Inspiron yesterday and after installing the new BT software package I had the same problems that are described here. The blue LED was dead, no BT on the system at all.

I don't know if still someone still observes this thread, but just figured out an easy way that solved the problem for me:

1. Deinstall of Dell BT Software and the BT adapter in system devices
2. Shutdown, disable "wireless" in BIOS, windows restart.
3. Shutdown, enable "wireless" in BIOS, windows restart.

After that, I got my blue BT led back again and could normally reinstall BT drivers and software.

Guys,

After a great deal of work and lots of patience, I finally have bluetooth again in my Inspiron 8600. What I did is keep calling Dell Tech Service. I finally found a representative who was willing to really take care of my problem and we stayed in touch by e-mail. After doing all what he told me to do without any success the representative finally admitted that the bluetooth card might have been somehow fried during the many attempts to put it to work, and shipped me a new card. Voila, problem solved. So, my theory is that when the new driver is installed something happens that may, after all the trials that we do to fix the bluetooth, turning off and on and so forth, damage the card. My suggestion is you guys keep insisting with Dell until they send you a replacement card and your problem is solved.

One more thing, I reinstalled the old, A02 driver. Do not want any problems with the new driver.

what if future updates come out and we download it and use it and will cause the same error again..:@

dell better bring out the new update that will not cause the problem..

im going to install it when the tech dude is here and show him what it does and perhaps this will be heard by dell and repair this major issue.

not happy dell buyer :-(

dell has said to me they will replace my card

they said the bluetooth card is the major problem with the new notebooks been released..

please note: if u have this problem ring them and have them replace it.

they are getn a guy to come over my house and replacing the mother board and blutooth.

ps: Borodo, so i shouldnt install the new drivers when i get my new card??? i should just install the a02 one only ??

Hi!

Today I upgraded the firmware for the Bluetooth adapter in my D800 (read this thread after the update). The upgrade made it impossible to use the bluetooth modem in my Ericsson T68i.

First everything looked good. The computer discovered the modem in the phone and install it. But when I tried to use the bluetooth modem it can't communicate with it. I can syncronize outlook with the phone but not use the bluetooth modem.

Really frustrating the it is impossible to uninstall this upgrade because there are no old firmware to download.

Before the upgrade everything worked perfectly but I needed the upgrade because a bought the new Microsoft Bluetooth Mouse (getting it in a couple of days) and the mouse needed this upgrade because HID was missing in the old A2 driver.

This is a really big problem fÃ¶r me because I really need my bluetooth modem when I'm travelling. Please fix this DELL!

Apparently it was the modem driver from Ericsson that malfunction! Now everything works so I can't blaim Dell anymore!
