Add Centrino to a D600?
One of my clients has a D600 that he ordered without the Centrino option. Now he wants to know if he can "add" Centrino so he doesn't have to have a wireless card in his PCMCIA slot. That doesn't sound right to me. Even if he had paid for the Centrino option, he would still need a card, right? Or is there an internal wireless card that can be added? Thanks.

i personally opted for the 1400 a/b/g card so i only on a sticker (on the right palmpad) for pentium M rather than centrino; fickle, yes; stupid, yes; what really matters, does it work - yes!
but yea - he can order either the intel 2100 802.11b or the new 2200 802.11g mini-pci cards or the dell series of 1300/1350, 1400/1450 cards

If his D600 has a Centrino logo sticker, then there is Intel WiFi card inside. If no Centrino sticker, then it may or may not have a non-Intel WiFi card.
Because there is no price difference between getting an Intel WiFi-b or no WiFi at all, I don't think anyone would have ordered a D600 without WiFi card.
Anyway, the sure way to check it, is to press F2 while booting the notebook.to go inside the BIOS Setup screen, and look for MiniPCI device information.
