Hi,
The Alienware 17 R2 or the Alienware M17xR2? You mention the system both ways in your post and I want to be sure. I'm assuming it's the M17x R2 since you said you just bought it. The M17x R2 was originally sold 5 years ago, so are you sure that is the model that you have? You can go to the main Dell support page, input your service tag, and the system will refresh to take you to the pages for your specific model, and you can find the model number there.
Which wireless cards do you have on your system? The various AW 17 systems had different options. I would also ask what brand, and model, of router that you're connecting to.
If you're having speed issues both wired and wireless I would have to guess that it's a software issue since the system would have different network adapters for wireless & wired. When is the last time you updated the drivers on the system? What about the firmware on your router? Have you updated that recently?
Please give us a bit more information and we'll see what we can specifically recommend to help resolve the problem. You may also want to check out the Dell Networking & Wireless Support Center for additional information on how to troubleshoot wireless issues.

hey there todd
I have the 2015 alienware m17xr2
my current system I'm running a killer wireless-n/a/ac 1525 wireless adaptor and also connecting to a netgear d6300 ac wireless I'm also finding now that my 5g network is also dropping out on the r2 also now as well when its still connected to my phone and other pc and working fine
I'm not having anymore issues with the wired network its just the wireless issue now like I can connect to the internet still but I cannot connect to any of my games ie like battle.net or world of Warcraft and league of legends
I did the update on the drivers as soon as it wasn't working

I am also having a similar problem, it is not the speed it is showing up more as a delay when sending information.
