Avoid new WRT54G firmware 2.04.3

Linksys just released new firmware for the WRT54G. v2.04.3. It's a "signal killer". It cut my range in less than half. With v2.02.7, I can surf the web from my backyard. With this new firmware, I get a weak signal in the next room. I flashed back to 2.02.7, and my signal went from "very low", back to "excellent".

YMMV.

You're welcome. There is already a thread up about this over on "Linksysinfo.org". A few other people are reporting the same problem.

Good advice. This new firmware just kills my signal strength. Resorted back to the last firmware version.

You can find it at http://www.hyperdrive.be/hyperwrt/ .
As with all firmware updates, there are no garantees.

But, it worked fine for my 54G router.

I tried it, and it seems to works well. There seems to be many 3rd party bios' that are better than the Linksys Bios. FWIW, I emailed Linksys and they denied there were any changes made to bios 2.04.3's signal strength.
