blue tooth headset connects but not working

I have tried to connect an Insignia BT headset to my XPS1530. It recognized it, sometimes it says it is connected, (sometimes it is just there) but no sound comes out of it, nor does it hear any sound from the mic. I tried to make it the default, but when I did that I "lost" all sound and had to do a system restore to get it back. My BT mouse works fine.

I would appreciate any hints or suggestions.
