bluescreen Error-possible problem solved?

 Dear Dell Community,

I'm currently using this Linksys adapter:

http://www.linksys.com/servlet/Satellite?c=L_CASupport_C2&childpagename=US%2FLayout&cid=1166859929435&pagename=Linksys%2FCommon%2FVisitorWrapper&lid=2943540888B29&displaypage=download

About once or twice a day after reconnecting to the internet or unplugging the device I get a bluescreen error like this:

Problem signature
  Problem Event Name BlueScreen
  OS Version 6.0.6001.2.1.0.768.3
  Locale ID 1033

Additional information about the problem
  BCCode a

  BCP4 8203EB5D
  OS Version 6_0_6001
  Service Pack 1_0
  Product 768_1

Linksys won't give me any assistance because they say that adapter is not compatible with Vista even though I use it every day.

Is there a way from reading my error message if you can tell that it's the adapter, or is it something else?

I'll gladly buy a new wireless adapter, but I don't want to if that's not the real problem.

I'm not sure if this is a problem either but when my XPS630 comes out of sleep or hibernation I ususally have to unplug the adapter for a few seconds to get it to reconnect to the net again.

I'm getting concerned that all these crashes will damage my new PC.

Thank You,

I am not familiar with that particular USB wireless adapter, but it sounds to me like the lack of a Vista driver is the problem.  I'm sure there is someone familiar with that adapter that can give more info, but the worst case scenario is that you would need to get a wireless adapter that has Vista support in order to prevent the errors.

That adapter is fairly old. There are no vista drivers listed for any version of the adapter. without proper drivers the card could cause this issue. I am surprised it actually functions at all.

Hello!

I am experiencing the same problem. I am using Dell Inspiron 1545 with Windows 7 Professional. Whenever I plugin Wireless 3G dongle, Blue screen error occurs. If u have got your problem fix then kindly guide me how to get it resolved.
