Which make and model cable modem is it?  Does it have a separate AC adapter block?  If so, have you tested the adapter to see if it is a problem with the adapter or the modem?

It is a power problem with the modem I have tested the power adapter. It is a model Toshiba pcx2200. Is there a way to bring it to a shop and get the power plug replaced? If so how much would it cost?

For problems like this it usually costs more to fix than it does to replace the modem.  I have no experience with repair of cable modems, but that's been my experience with nearly all other components that cost less than $200.

Please disregard this, I misread your question.
