can't load secure pages

I can't for some reason access any secure sites.  I added them  to my list of trusted sites but still I can't get the page to load.  It just stays blank, nothing comes up at all.  Any site with https, my bank, the post office, cellular company.   The home page comes up just fine, but I can't access anything else that is secure.  I'm at a loss.....Somebody please help me!!!!:smileysad:
